The Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T), using satellite connections, enables force commanders for the first time to maneuver anywhere on the battlefield while communicating and collaborating with warfighters, command posts and remote analytical centers. The unique on-the-move capabilities of the network were demonstrated in Arizona in late 2008 in an exercise that replicated a force structure equivalent to 4,000 troops using 30 network nodes to share information.
